Los Angeles is a delightful playground. And if you are looking for something to do on a summer day or night there is plenty to eat, see and do in the city.
Last week, we gave you some ideas of what to do and some cool places to check out this summer in Los Angeles. Here’s the rest of our list!
Take advantage of the nice weather and go for a bike ride. Bicycle along the network of bike paths that cross the city. Bike along the coast and get exercise while breathing in the fresh ocean air. The Marvin Braude coastal bike trail is a 22-mile bike ride. The path starts at Torrance Beach in the South Bay and heads north all the way to Will Rogers State Beach in the Pacific Palisades.
The free, family-friendly event features more than 30 taco vendors, including Kogi BBQ, Epic Gourmet Taco Catering, Thai-Mes Cocina and Tacos La Tehuanita. Activities include games, art-making and live music. The festival runs from noon-8 p.m. Aug. 18 at Grand Park in Downtown Los Angeles.
LA Food and Wine Festival
The culinary event showcases the finest in L.A. Food and drink. Here you can sample the cuisines and products from over 100 celebrity chefs, and 25 world-class wines. Event runs Aug. 22-Aug. 26 and is held at various locations in the Los Angeles area. Check their website for details.
Shakespeare by the Sea
Shakespearean plays in outdoor spaces, from parks to amphitheaters. This year’s two plays are “The Merry Wives of Windsor” and the “Winter’s Tale” Don’t forget to bring a picnic! Plays are at 7 p.m., from Aug. 1 to 18.
Salsa and Latin Dance
Dance to salsa and Latin fusion as part of Sizzling Summer Nights. There will be drinks and tacos, free dance lessons and access to the museum at Autry Museum of the American West. This event takes place 5:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Thursdays through Aug. 16. Free admission for Autry members; $14 for non-members; $10 for students; $6 children ages 3-12.
