On Monday, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti will deliver his fifth annual State of the City address from the Los Angeles City Hall Council Chambers. There, he is expected to tout major awards received by the city, new projects and the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“Every year, Los Angeles reaches new heights,” Garcetti said in an announcement for the address. “And this past year was no exception.
This past year, the city of Los Angeles succeeded in a bid to bring the Olympic Games home to LA in 2028, and became the only city in America to win the Gold award from Bloomberg Philanthropies for the best-run city.
Garcetti also promised to lay out his vision for the future of Los Angeles, and said that ending homelessness would be a key element of that vision.
The address can be watched live Monday at 10 a.m. at LAMayor.org/SOTC2018.
