LONG BEACH (CNS) – A man was shot and killed in Long Beach this morning and police are searching for the killer.

Officers were sent to the 1700 block of Daisy Avenue about 2:45 a.m. on a report of a shooting, according to Long Beach police Lt. Poe Siavii.

The man, in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner’s office reported. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.

Police were unsure of a motive for the crime, but said it did not appear to have been gang-related.

The suspect may have fled on a bicycle, police said. A description of the suspect was not available.
