A man was killed in a shooting in the parking lot of a Home Depot in Torrance last night, authorities said today.

According to Sgt. Ronald Harris of the Torrance Police Department, police received a shots-fired call at 11:38 p.m. Tuesday and went to the store at Crenshaw and Lomita boulevards.

There, they found a male officers found the victim in the parking lot. He was given CPR and resuscitation was attempted with a defibrillator, but was ultimately was rushed to the hospital, where he died, Harris said.

Investigators remain at the scene this morning, collecting evidence and trying to identify the suspect or suspects involved, he said. The investigation was not projected to impede traffic, however, Harris said. A detailed description of the suspect or suspects was not immediately available.
