Pair arrested on suspicion of auto burglaries throughout San Gabriel Valley

MONTEREY PARK (CNS) – A 27-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were
arrested in Monterey Park, suspected of committing car burglaries throughout
the San Gabriel Valley, authorities said today.
At 9 p.m. Tuesday, Monterey Park police officers observed two people
break into a vehicle in the 800 block of Valley Boulevard in Alhambra, then get
into another vehicle and drive away, according to Sgt. Paul Yniguez of the
Monterey Park Police Department.
A short time later, officers stopped the vehicle and discovered the
pair had items stolen from the  previous vehicle, Yniguez said.
Officers found additional stolen property in the suspects’ vehicle and
determined it had been taken from several vehicle burglaries that occurred
in Monterey Park and throughout the San Gabriel Valley, he said.
The suspects were identified as Anthony Murillo and Abigail Mendoza,
both of Baldwin Park. Both were charged with suspicion of auto burglary.
Murillo was being held at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic.
