PASADENA (CNS) – Pasadena police today investigated the death of a woman who was struck by a hit-and-run driver as she crossed a street.
The crash was about 7:20 p.m. Sunday on Fair Oaks Avenue just north of Claremont Street, Pasadena police Lt. Max Dahlstein told City News Service.
The victim died at the scene, Dahlstein said. Her name was withheld pending family notification.
The woman was crossing the street when she was hit and there was no crosswalk at the location, Dahlstein said.
The driver fled down Fair Oaks Avenue after the crash. Dahlstein said the only description so far is that it was a white vehicle.
The crash shut down Fair Oaks Avenue from Claremont Street to Washington Boulevard, Pasadena police report. It was reopened just before 1 a.m. Monday.
Anyone with information on the hit-and-run driver was urged to call Pasadena police at (626) 744-4241.
