POMONA (CNS) – A man and a woman found dead Sunday inside a Pomona home, each with a single gunshot wound, died in a murder-suicide, authorities said.
The man shot the woman and killed himself, coroner’s Investigator Kristy McCracken said.
Their names were not released.
The discovery was made about 11:20 a.m. when officers were conducting a welfare check in the 1400 block of West McKinley Avenue, Pomona Police Sgt. Brian Hagerty said. Firefighters pronounced them dead at the scene.
“Officers also recovered a firearm next to the victims,” Hagerty said. Homicide detectives were investigating.
“Evidence suggests there are no outstanding suspects and there is no current threat to the public,” Hagerty said.
“Investigators learned the deceased individuals were married for several years,” Pomona police Sgt. Ryan Rodriguez said.
