POMONA (CNS) – An ex-con was arrested today at his home in the San Bernardino County community of Montclair on suspicion of providing drugs and weapons to Pomona gang members, police said.
Tom McGhuey, 59, of Montclair was taken into custody after officers served a search warrant at his home in the 10600 block of Silicon Avenue about 12:05 a.m., the Pomona Police Department reported.
McGhuey was booked on suspicion of various violations, including being a felon in possession of a firearm and being a felon in possession of ammunition, police said.
Officers from the Pomona police Major Crimes Task Force went to the residence after they “obtained information through gathered intelligence of a possible narcotic and firearms dealer,” according to a PPD statement, which alleges that the “nexus between the city of Montclair and the city of Pomona was that Tom McGhuey was providing narcotics and firearms to Pomona gang members.”
Officers seized three assault-type rifles, several rounds of high- caliber ammunition, and 170 pounds of marijuana, police said.
