NORWALK (CNS) – An alleged armed suspect who barricaded himself inside a residence in Norwalk for nearly six hours and 45 minutes finally surrendered early this morning to sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau negotiators, the department said.
The situation began around 8 p.m. in the 11900 block of Nava Street as a noise/party complaint, Deputy Marvin Carter said.
“People were outside drinking beer” and someone called it in to the department, Carter said.
The department dispatched the SEB to the scene and they set up a perimeter and began negotiations with the man inside the residence.
At this point, Carter said he didn’t yet know if the man was wanted in connection with any crime.
The man, who remains unidentified, peacefully surrendered to authorities, who have since reopened Nava Street.
