Two men have been arrested and are facing attempted murder charges in connection to a shooting in Torrance on April 12.
Gilbert Savala, 42, and Jose Cruz, 25, both pleaded not guilty to an attempted murder charge stemming from the shooting that took place around 7 p.m. April 12 near Carson Street and Cabrillo Avenue.
Savala was arrested on April 17, and is being held in lieu of $1.18 million bail. Cruz was picked up by police on April 25, and his bail was set at $2.045 million.
The victim, who hailed from San Pedro, was hospitalized and later released.
Police did not release the man’s name, nor provide details on the circumstances of the shooting, including a motive.
Both men are scheduled to appear in a Torrance courtroom on May 14.
