Two suspects sought in violent home-invasion robbery in Burbank

BURBANK (CNS) – A man in his 70s was hospitalized Wednesday night and police searched for two men suspected of breaking into the man’s home, assaulting him and robbing him of cash.

The home invasion occurred on Palm Avenue, near Lomita Street, at about 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Burbank Police Department.

“A physical confrontation ensued between the two men and the homeowner, where the homeowner sustained some moderate injuries,” Burbank Police Lt. Claudio Losacco told reporters at the scene. “The men demanded money from the homeowner, which he was able to give them. The homeowner then ran from the men in the home and the men fled the scene on foot.”

NBC4 reported the initial call was that the victim was attacked with a hammer, but police could not immediately confirm that report.

A detailed description of the suspects or their getaway vehicle was not immediately available.
