When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day, it’s all about the green. A day meant to be remembered for the patron saint of Ireland, it has turned into a drink fest.
This year, the holiday falls on a Saturday, which means more opportunity to make it a weekend of fun and partying.
But forget the bar crawl. Here are some fun and festive Irish-themed drink recipes to make in the comfort of your own home. Some of these drinks are so good you might need to pinch yourself.
Finish off your St. Patrick's Day feast with an after-dinner drink.This creamy and nutty coffee drink is spiked with Kahlua, Baileys Irish Cream and Frangelico. The whipped cream-topped delight can also be enjoyed as a breakfast drink.
A pretty shade of green, this cocktail is perfect for celebrating St. Patrick's day. The twist on the traditional whiskey sour features a blend of sour and sweet.
Irish Mudslide with Jameson
The classic Irish mudslide get a holiday twist with Jameson whiskey replacing vodka, and a few green drops of coloring. The creamy cocktail is blended with half and half, Kahlua and Baileys and topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
Leprechaun's Kiss Cocktail
Pucker up. This fun drink with features a mixture of Blue Curacao, orange juice and vodka. A splash of sprite adds some fizz to the drink. Dip the glass into a small bowl of rainbow sprinkles to decorate the rim for a colorful treat.
Bust out the blender for this cold and refreshing dessert shake made with Baileys Irish Cream and ice cream.
Chocolate and mint. What's not to love? This classic cocktail is fast and easy to make. It features three simple ingredients: creme de menthe, creme de cacao and light cream.
This martini combines creme de menthe with Baileys Irish Cream. It's made with three different kinds of alcohol, so don't be surprised to wake up with a hangover.
It wouldn’t be St.Patrick's Day without a thick and delicious shamrock shake. Make that ... the adult-version, which adds vodka and peppermint schnapps to the tradtional shake.
