Buses replace Gold Line trains in Pasadena on Saturday

Saturday commuters will have to work their way around Metro maintenance, as crews will be working on upgrades to three stations from open until 4 p.m.

The Memorial Park, Del Mar, and Fillmore stations will all be closed on Saturday, but commuters needing to travel through the area will be provided with free bus shuttles between the Lake and South Pasadena stations throughout the closure.

Southbound trains will travel as far as the Lake station before turning back to Azusa. Similarly, northbound trains will stop in South Pasadena before returning to East Los Angeles.

Despite the changes, shuttles are expected to match train service and the Gold Line is scheduled to run every 12 minutes while work is in progress.

Pasadena will also offer free rides on Pasadena Transit buses, as well as Pasadena Dial-A-Ride shuttles the day of the closure, also until 4 p.m.

Work at these stations was originally slated for late August, but was later rescheduled.
