VAN NUYS (CNS) – A crossing guard who was hit by a vehicle in the Valley Glen area near Van Nuys died at a hospital, authorities said today.
Paramedics sent to the 13400 block of West Vanowen Street about 7:20 a.m. Monday took the woman to a hospital, where she died about 10 hours afterward, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Information was not immediately available on her identity.
A teenage girl was also hit by the vehicle, and was treated for injuries described as not life-threatening.
The motorist remained at the scene and was interviewed by officers.
LAPD Sgt. David Delgado told KTLA5 that the driver possibly “couldn’t see very clearly because … the sun was in his eyes.”
