From Jet Propulsion Lab to Caltech, Pasadena is known as the place for innovation. But now, the Crown City could be the site of a new development in the doughnut world.
Pasadena’s new Dunkin’ Donuts location will be the first in the country to be branded as simply “Dunkin’.” Officials say that this is part of a larger effort to rebrand the chain to place a focus on their coffee products, which have overtaken doughnuts as their main selling point.
This is part of a larger expansion into Southern California, the first one after decades of absence. The West Covina City Council recently approved a Dunkin’/Baskin-Robbins drive-through at South Hills Plaza on South Azusa Avenue, after long debate within the community. That restaurant could open in December.
