Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced Friday a new portal run by the city to help out-of-work and struggling Angelenos find work.
Via the new LA Jobs Portal, Angelenos facing an uncertain employment situation can turn to a wide range of resources to connect with jobs available throughout the city.
“The new Safer at Home order brings new challenges for our families,” Garcetti said. “I know the impact is being felt across the city.”
Garcetti also asked Angelenos to stay home unless they are having respiratory difficulties, to prevent flooding emergency rooms. He encouraged social distancing, and did his best to spread a message of hope.
“We have the power to prevent this health care crisis from getting worse,” Garcetti said.
Garcetti said another address will occur on Sunday evening.
