Man suffers head injury from fall onto Purple Line tracks

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A man, possibly a transient, suffered a laceration to his head when he fell onto the tracks of the Metro’s Purple Line this morning, near the transit agency’s Normandie Avenue stop.

The fall occurred about 5 a.m. and the subway car’s operator was able to stop the train, Metro spokesman Rick Jager said.

Firefighters dispatched to the scene at 5:02 a.m. rushed the man to area hospital, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
