The symphony has partnered with CicLAvia and Community Arts Resources to create a music-filled no-car zone from Walt Disney Concert Hall to the Hollywood Bowl beginning at 9 a.m. on Sept. 30.
Six music hubs along the route will showcase 1,800 local musicians, artists and dancers throughout the day, according to organizers. The party will culminate in a centenary season kickoff concert at the Hollywood Bowl featuring the LA Phil, Katy Perry, Herbie Hancock and others.
Stages will be set up in Macarthur Park, Koreatown, and Hollywood. Large stretches of Wilshire Boulevard, Western and Melrose Avenues, and Vine Street will be closed to traffic, with points open for crossing.
