PASADENA (CNS) – Two San Fernando Valley men both pleaded no contest today to a voluntary manslaughter charge stemming from a 21-year-old man’s killing after a fight outside a party in Burbank last year.
Robert Allen Stout of Van Nuys and Jose Anthony Valdivieso of Northridge, both 20, were initially charged with murder for the March 2, 2019, slaying of Christian Guevara.
Stout — who admitted an allegation that he personally used a firearm — is facing 13 years in state prison, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. He is due back in a Pasadena courtroom for sentencing Oct. 7.
Valdivieso is facing up to 11 years in state prison.
Stout and Valdivieso were involved in an early morning fight in which Guevara was shot outside of a home in the 4000 block of West Clark Avenue where a party was being held.
Police said Stout confessed to shooting Guevara, who died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen after being taken to a local hospital.
Stout and Valdivieso were arrested two days later by Burbank police and have remained behind bars since then.
